Jeremy Swain began working in the homeless sector in 1980, initially as a volunteer. He moved to Thames Reach in 1984, becoming Chief Executive in 2001.

Jeremy chairs the Lambeth Commission on Personalisation and is deputy-chair of the London Housing Foundation, a grant-giving trust supporting the work of homelessness agencies in London. He is an active member of ACEVO (the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations), a member of the National Advisory Council of Homeless Link and sits on the Business Action on Homelessness London Steering Group.

Jeremy regularly comments on voluntary sector issues on TV, radio and through the written media and lectures on subjects such as stakeholder partnerships and mergers.
