Sandy Walker is the director of The Sanity Company which publishes books aimed at helping children and young people develop good mental health and problem solving skills and co-founder director of the Good Mental Health Cooperative. She is also a Lecturer in Mental Health at Southampton University where she is completing doctoral research into the patient experience of contact with mental health services in the general hospital. She is a qualified mental health nurse with a wide range of clinical experience spanning more than twenty years.  In addition to her publishing, cooperative and university work she is a semi-professional musician and does voluntary work for various mental health organisations including being the co-coordinator for the Hampshire Human Library – An international initiative aimed at reducing stigma through interaction and education of the public.
