Wednesday 13 September at City Lit

Chi Kung / room 504 / 12:30-13:30
Discover and explore this ancient form of gentle exercise to calm the mind, relax the body and stimulate energy (Chi). Learn a variety of Chi Kung exercises including traditional forms and postures. By Carla Drayton. 

Yoga for Deaf People living with depression & anxiety / room 302 / 13:30-14:30
Deaf Yoga for Deaf people living with depression & anxiety in all its forms. Introducing postures (asana) and breathing practices (pranayama) specifically to reassure and calm the system and enhance energy to uplift the spirits. Part of this session will be 'chair yoga'.  Delivered in Sign Language (with voice on by request for hearing impaired people). By Sara Scot. 

Art Therapy: Mindful Image making / room 213 /  14:30-16:00
Explore art therapy and how working with mindfulness and imagination can enhance creative image making and improve mental wellbeing.

Reiki for Mental Health: An Introduction / room 504 / 10:30-12:00
The introduction to Reiki workshop gives you an opportunity to learn more about Reiki, and how it can benefit your mental health and wellbeing. This workshop also discusses the origins of Reiki; where does it come from, the benefits of Reiki, what happens in a Reiki session, and what you would learn in a Reiki course.  The course offers practical demonstrations and opportunities for questions and answers on any aspect of Reiki. If you're feeling a stuck in any area of your life, come and book a mini Clarity Coaching session with Lifestyle and Career Coach and City Lit tutor, Chloé Gold. In this 20-minute mini-session, you'll have an opportunity to gain some perspective of your life and explore:
- Where you are now: what's working well, not so well and the areas you'd like to change
- Where you want to be
- What's holding you back
- Set an action step to move you in the right direction

Meditation - Keeping it Simple / room 302 / 10:00-11:00

Massage Magic / room 302 / 12:30 – 14:00
Participate in a fun and creative massage workshop where you will learn to give and receive a seated massage. Learn some magical techniques that can help soothe, relax and invigorate. By Farrah Idris

More than just posture – experience the Alexander Technique for yourself and how it can improve your overall wellbeing / room 102 / 14:00-16:00
The way we use our bodies and minds show up in our posture. Learning Alexander Technique leads to improved use of ourselves. Movement, voice and breathing become freer and easier, we become more relaxed and confident, learn overcome stress and anxiety and avoid back and neck pain. By Brita Forsstrom.
